  • A Gallaudet Protester Threatened with Physical Violence

There is a disturbing post that was permitted to be posted at a popular list.serv. A subscriber was upset with a Gally protester who had an issue with a former member of FSSA, who recently resigned, and threatened to commit physical violence, i.e., "cage your mouth", if this protester didn't shut up about the former FSSA member. The protester interpreted it as a physical threat and so did few other readers, including the moderator.

    I have several questions:

Why was this post containing a threat to commit physical violence permitted to be published?

Why is this post allowed to be left in the archives?

Has the protest come down to threats of physical violence to silence Gallaudet protestors?

This practice of intimidation is very disturbing. We need to make a clear statement that no physical violence, including threats, cannot be tolerated at all.

This was left to me by a non-Xanga friend:

Why was this post containing a threat to commit physical violence permitted to be published?

WHY NOT? TO SHOW ALL WHAT IS HAPPENING BEHIND THE SCENE AND WHY

Why is this post allowed to be left in the archives?

LEFT IN THE ARCHIVES?  ARE YOU KIDDING ME…..IT’S PERFECT EVIDENCE OF THREATS AND INTIMIDATIONS

Has the protest come down to threats of physical violence to silence Gallaudet protestors?

THAT’S A THOUGHT. AND IT'S NOT LIMITED TO JUST GALLAUDET PROTESTERS

This practice of intimidation is very disturbing. We need to make a clear statement that no physical violence, including threats, cannot be tolerated at all.

HENCE THE REASON WHY THOSE THREATS ARE POSTED FOR ALL TO SEE. ALONG WITH THEIR NAMES, EMAILS AND SUCH. THIS IS INTOLERABLE AND PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHO THOSE INTIMIDATORS AND PHYSICAL THREATS COME FROM.  TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

To non-Xanga friend,  it is my understanding that this list.serv moderator screens all the posts first before publishing them in the list.serv. My question was why did the moderator authorized this threatening post to be released in the first place? He could have easily withheld the post. He didn't. How come? That was supposed to be his job as a moderator.

Hi MishkaZena, it is very nice of you to take up the issue. Thank you very much! I feel like I was harrassed. Nobody know who this Remonez can be. I definitely need some days off to relax my nerves after this unbelievable insult. Take care,
